Firm Bios 

Rick J. Fenelli, LL.M

Attorney at Law


 

Rick is the founder of the firm and focuses his practice in the field of Estate Planning, Estate Administration, and entity formation. He has practiced in Orange County for the past 34 years and has lectured extensively throughout Southern California as the keynote speaker to large corporations, State and County Conventions, life underwriters’ conventions, as well as to the general public. He has been a regular on radio stations and has made several television appearances. He is the author of THE FINANCIAL PROBLEM SOLVER which is available nationwide.

Rick attended the University of Oregon where he received his B.A. degree in History. He continued his education at Western State University School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate degree, and extended his education by attending classes at the Masters of Business Tax program at USC. In addition, he received his LL.M, Masters in Taxation, at Chapman University School of Law in 2007.

Rick and his wife, Margie, have been married for 39 years and are residents of Orange County, California. His daughter, Amy Fenelli Ciftcikara, Attorney at Law, his son-in-law, Oz Ciftcikara, Attorney at Law, his daughter, Katie A. Fenelli, Attorney at Law, and his daughter, Karianne Welch, Attorney at Law, are all practicing partners in his firm.

In his spare time, he enjoys reading, taking walks, traveling and spending time with his six grandchildren.


Margie Fenelli

Office Manager



Margie started the practice with Rick over 34 years ago. Throughout those years she was right by his side helping him build the reputable practice that it is today. She is currently the Office Manager of the firm and handles all office affairs.

In her spare time, Margie enjoys gardening, cooking and spending time with her six grandchildren.

Amy Fenelli Ciftcikara

Attorney at Law



Amy joined the firm in August 2001 and has been a licensed attorney since January 1, 2003. She focuses her practice in the areas of Estate Planning and Probate Administration. She takes pride in assisting clients plan out the distribution of their estate and giving them "peace of mind." In addition, she has handled dozens of Probate Administrations in Orange, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.

Prior to her legal education, Amy attended the University of San Diego and graduated with a B.A. degree in Political Science. She then attended Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego and earned her Juris Doctorate degree. While at Thomas Jefferson, Amy earned a Jefferson Medal in Civil Procedure II. During her legal education she traveled abroad to over a dozen countries while earning education credit. Some of the most memorable countries were Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary.

Amy and her husband, Oz, also a member of the firm, have been married for 7 years and are residents of Orange County, California.

In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, walking and spending time with her four children - Matthew (4), Cole (2), Anna (2), and Drew (4 months).


Oz C. Ciftcikara, LL.M

Attorney at Law

Certified as a Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law by the State of California Board of Legal Specialization


Oz joined the firm in May 2004. He focuses his practice in the areas of high-end Tax Planning, Estate Administration, and Corporate matters.Prior to his legal education, Oz attended the University of California at San Marcos and graduated with a B.A. degree in Psychology. He then attended Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego and earned his Juris Doctorate degree. While at Thomas Jefferson, Oz was a member of the Law Review staff. In addition, he received several CALI, Witkin and American Jurisprudence awards, which are earned by obtaining the highest grade in the class. He graduated Summa Cum Laude. Oz attended Chapman University in Orange, California, earning his LL.M in Taxation. While at Chapman, Oz earned several more CALI Awards. He was recently certified as a Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization.

Oz and his wife, Amy, also a member of the firm, have been married for 7 years and are residents of Orange County, California.

In his spare time, he enjoys hanging out with friends, watching sporting events and spending time with his four children - Matthew (4), Cole (2), Anna (2), and Drew (4 months).


Katie Allyson Fenelli
Attorney at Law



Katie joined the firm in December 2005. She focuses her practice in the areas of Estate Planning and Trust Administration. She takes pride in helping her clients not only plan out the distribution of their estate while living, but, guiding the surviving spouse and family through the emotionally difficult journey of administering the Trust after the death of a loved one. Katie’s compassion for others, gentle demeanor and lively personality are some of the many attributes that our clients appreciate about her.
 

Prior to her legal education, Katie attended the University of San Diego and graduated with a B.A. degree in Psychology. She then attended Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego and earned her Juris Doctorate degree, and is currently attending Chapman University working toward obtaining her LL.M in Taxation. She was awarded the CALI award from Chapman University for Income Tax for Trusts, Estates and Beneficiaries.

Katie is an avid worldwide traveler and is always planning her next voyage. Some of her favorite countries to visit include New Zealand, Australia, Italy, Greece and England.

In her spare time, she enjoys spinning, surfing, outrigging, walking....anything outdoors!


Karianne Fenelli Welch
Attorney at Law



Kari joined the firm in 2006. She is licensed to practice law in California and Florida. She focuses her practice in the area of Estate Planning. Her attention to detail and creative mind are things that are appreciated by all of her clients.

Prior to her legal education, Kari attended Santa Clara University and graduated with a B.A. degree in Psychology. She then attended Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego and earned her Juris Doctorate degree. After graduating from Thomas Jefferson, Kari moved to Florida and practiced in Ft. Lauderdale for two years before moving back to California and joining the firm. During her legal education she traveled abroad to over a dozen countries while earning education credit.


In her spare time, she enjoys the beach, snow boarding, traveling, and spending time with her husband and two daughters - Katelynn (3) and Carson (1).
